Submit Self-Tape Auditions ASAP
Feb 06, 2025Often time, actors love when they have extra time for a self-tape (remote) audition. But when there isn't a sense of urgency, that can cause many to put it off until right before the deadline. No big deal as long as it's in on time, right? Right??
Wrong.
It is ALWAYS better to have your auditions in sooner rather than later. As soon as you're able to record and submit, DO IT!
We are usually listening to auditions as submissions come in. And, in other cases (like today), our client has requested to hear the auditions sooner as the record date moved up. That means, even though my deadline was set for 11am PT on Monday, I'm listening to all of the auditions on Saturday afternoon that have already submitted and will choose from those who to send to the client. Which, unfortunately, mean actors submitting later tonight, tomorrow, or Monday morning are likely going to miss out on this one.
Keep in mind this doesn't happen too often, but it's valuable to know it can and does happen. So, don't procrastinate - record the audition as soon as you have a chance and submit it. Your chances of being heard and submitted will be higher PLUS it'll be one less thing on your to do list.
